Steve’s experience spans roles as a superintendent, university instructor, and consultant, supporting educational leaders and organizations nationwide. He holds multiple professional coaching certifications and advanced degrees from the University of Michigan and University of Wisconsin–Madison. Steve is passionate about helping leaders thrive and enjoys exploring the outdoors in his free time.
Mike Hennessy is a social science researcher–practitioner with significant experience working alongside school leaders to tackle the most pressing workforce challenges facing the education sector.
In his role as Chief Research & Insights Officer at PeopleBench, Mike’s focus is on getting timely, high-quality data into the hands of leaders to support evidence-informed workforce decision making. Fleur Johnston is an organisational psychology expert and leader in large-scale workforce transformation. As the Founder and CEO of PeopleBench, she is committed to equipping school leaders with advanced technology, tools, and professional learning to build sustainable and impactful school workforces.
Drawing on her early career in childhood education and inspired by her teacher mother, Fleur is passionate about advancing contemporary workforce improvement ideas. Fleur believes that the workplace experience of adults in schools ultimately shapes educational outcomes for students. She sees workforce strategy as the critical bridge between policy aspirations and the real-world dynamics of working in schools.
Fleur is a Fellow of the Australian Human Resources Institute, a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and an Executive Advisor to QUT’s Executive MBA program. She is a proud University of Queensland alum. In 2023, Fleur received the AmCham Australia Digital Economy Award. In 2025, she led the launch of a five-year research program with the University of Pennsylvania GSE and Centre for Human and Optimal Development, exploring how technology-enabled workforce strategy can improve staff retention and the experience of work at scale.
